Christmas
For Christmas this year I decided to try out freezer paper stenciling for the first time! The first picture is a t-shirt for my Brother in law who's favorite cereal is..you guessed it Oatmeal squares!!

This second one is a t-shirt for my other brother in law it is a band logo/mascot that my husband came up with for his brothers band he had in high school.

Last we have a pillow case for another brother in law the quote is one from his little boy so it made it fun and personal!! I think it perfect for a pillow case!

I made many other gifts but I didnt get pics of them before I wrapped them. This year was tough trying to get everything done when I was feeling super tired and nauseous as well as all the other fun symptoms of the first trimester of pregnancy but at least I got them done and they got there by Christmas!!!
We had a wonderful laid back Christmas which was nice. Christmas Eve we went over to some friends house and had dinner, ate some goodies and played games it was a lot of fun. Its nice to have a family to hang out with that doesnt mind that we are super boring ;) and the kids play together great!! After we got home we opened gifts and then it was bed time so that santa could come!!
Little Payton was to excited I guess because she woke up at 2:30am and would not go back to bed so we figured what the heck lets get it over with! It was a very long Christmas to say the least. It was also a very relaxed and lazy one which was good since we had no sleep. Then Sunday we decided to take a quick trip down to visit my parents which was perfect since the pass was clear. The girls were so excited to get to see CookieMa and Poppa and now think we can just hop in the car and go see everyone anytime (specifically My in-laws who live 18 hours away!) haha It has also been really nice to have my husband home for the past week and a half although I get nothing done when he is home and the "kids" take over the house (that includes the hubby too :P ) Does this happen to anyone else?
Hope you all have a wonderful New Year and that it brings you new exciting opportunities.
ps sorry there are no Christmas pics neither of our cameras were charged!! ( I know Im lame)

Busy Sick!!
Well as the title states we have been busy being sick!! It really has not been fun we are going on 4 weeks now so Im ready for everyone to be healthy!!
Ok now on to what Ive been up to (other then taking care of the sickies) on the 21st I was in charge of a humanitarian activity at church and we made pillow cases to send to the childrens hospital in seattle. I didnt take my camera but next time I will try to remember. It was really fun to get to know the other ladies in our ward they are a hoot!
Well being locked up in the house for the past 3 weeks has started to take its toll on me and Ive been trying to figure out new craft projects to do to keep me from going insane so I decided to make a grab and go rag blanket out of some scrap sponge bob fabric I love how it turned out its super cute and the perfect size for a car seat, although I really dont have use for it since we dont have a little one so I guess it will be for a future baby shower gift.
I also decided to have a try at crocheting and have decided it will be something that I will have to do once the kids are older because you have to keep track of how many stitches and well with sickies it was just not happening so I just kind of went with the flow on this hat. I messed up a lot but decided to just keep going and it turned out cute..... well at least I think it did haha.

Once the girls are better I will do a post of something fun we have done together but for now its just laying around watching movies and learning there letters which myla is doing awesome at and has read a few words today!! It is so fun to see there little minds working and putting stuff together. I was having a really hard time with myla because she takes after her daddy and is a perfectionist and was not ok with making mistakes. For example she was playing mario cart and even though she finished the race she was really upset she didnt get first and started crying and said "Im a Loser, the princess cries because Im a loser" it was really sad. She is still really hard on herself but is learning that it is ok to make mistakes or not get first.
It is crazy how different her and Payton are that way. Payton takes after me big time as in "Who cares if I dont get it right at least I can make it fun" she is such a little spit fire and gives me a run for my money every single day!! I love my girls and cant wait to see what they are like as they grow. They are the best girls ever!!!
Michael has been busy as usual with work and trying to find fun new ways to get the students excited about what they are learning and it takes his toll on him some days. I told him he should make a blog with little clips of funny things that students say because he has a ton of off the wall students that say the darnedest things it would be really funny!! If he actually does it I will post a link. well thats it for now until next time

The zipper purse
Yesterday as I was talking to my mom she asked me if Ive ever seen or heard of the zipper purse and well I hadn't so I headed over to youtube and found some videos of people zipping and un-zipping there purses. Now this intrigued me and I had to try it out for myself so I headed over to good old Joann fabrics which is totally lacking in the bulk zipper department, I only had one option, but that didn't stop me. so this morning as I was getting ready to sew it together I looked over and the owls on this fabric were screaming at me so I grabbed them and set to work. This is my ending product both unzipped and Zipped (its pretty cute i must say and the owls complete it.) Enjoy

My stash from todays outing
Today I made a trip out to good old Joann Fabric and got some cute kiddie prints. Im thinking maybe some car seat covers or possibly blankets or something else? If you have any ideas please let me know I would love some input. Payton also picked out her own material which just happens to be another Cat print. Oh what a crazy kid. We also just spent last week with michael family in Utah and had a blast I will blog about our trip later. I forgot my camera so it will be picture less :( It was such a nice relaxing trip and great to see family I love them all so much!!

Hutch
before
My Grandma gave me her beautiful china hutch and I was so excited but it needed cleaning since its been in storage for a while so I finally got out there and cleaned it. As I was cleaning it I noticed it was in dire need of sanding and since sanding would take off most of the stain I decided I would re-stain over the light stain with a darker one to make it look more rustic and it turned out awesome I cant wait to move it into the house!! Thank you so much for it Grandma I love you!!

Half of my sewing....
I have recently been on a kick of sewing little infant clothing only problem I dont have an infant so my little nephews will each be getting a cute new shirt as soon as I finalize the shirts. They are so fun to make and Ive gotten really quick at it :) The little girl sun dresses with matching hats are so stinking cute and I realized that they could also be used as a t-shirt for a toddler..How cute would that be!?! Ive also sewn a shirt and dress for myself as well as a dress for my niece Marley. Im thinking I really need to make another pettiskirt because Payton out grew hers and so did myla. Thats going to take a while to sew since its tons and tons of fabric to gather and sew. But they are really fun to see the girls twirl around in. I think it would be tons of fun to Have a party with a bunch of little girls and they could dress up and dance and paint finger nails and all that girly stuff. I think I should get some friends together and we can dress up the girls and do there hair and then they can all eat popcorn and watch Princess and the frog..(only problem I dont have to many friends hmmmm).. Either way I think it sounds like a blast!!!
Ive been thinking about starting an Etsy page because I have so many things that I want to make but my girls can only wear so many clothes and I have some great Ideas. anywho enjoy the pics of the individual items.

Ive been getting a little bored lately so Ive been trying to figure out at least on little sewing project to do each day of the week while michael is at work but the catch is that it has to involve the girls in one way or another so yesterday I decided to make myla some house slippers (payton was sleeping but I have some cut out for her too) She loves them she slept with them on and has not taken them off since i made them its so cute. Myla loves it when I sew stuff for her so our next project will be a stuffed dinosaur pattern i found online I'll put up picks when Im done.
Monday we are finally meeting with our realtor so we should be able to start looking for a house next week YAY!!!! Im very excited and cant wait to be in a house without anyone living above us. Ill keep you posted.
